When snow piles up, fire hydrants can disappear fast — and that can cost firefighters valuable time during an emergency. That’s where you come in.
Here’s How You Can Help
- Clear at least 3 feet around the hydrant
- Remove snow and ice buildup
- Make sure there’s a clear path to the street
- Keep hydrants visible — don’t let snowbanks hide them
In a fire emergency, every second matters. A buried hydrant can slow response time when it matters most. Think of it as being a winter hero with a shovel: small effort, big impact.
